So how many races can i play?
There are 3 races in RF Online battling for power. The Accretians are a race of cyborgs, they don't use magic but have powerful mechanical bodies. The Bellato make use of both science/technology and magic. The Corites, aso known as the race of the ancients don't acknowledge technology and focus on magic, nature, and summon creatures.
What's the difference between the races?
The Accretians have no magic class, but you can get huge siege type weapons which can give one soldier the power of a small army. This race would suit people who don't usually play magic users in games (or those who prefer the "warrior" type)
The Bellato have some magic skills but also have the ability to use Huge MAU (mechs) later on -- these are a suitable race for people who like a bit of everything.
The Corites don't use technology, instead they rely on magic and later on have the ability to summon creatures, this race suits people who enjoy playing wizards etc in games.
When making a character, how in depth is the customization of your character? As in face, hair, body size and things like that...
There are a few basic customization options in the begining.
Your options after choosing your race include choosing:
Male or Female (Accretia is genderless, so no choice for them)
Basic clothing (which only matters when unequipped or untill level 4 when you get your first set of armor)
Face
Hair
Further appearance changes are apparent when equipping new armor or weapons.

I've heard each race has classes...what are these?
Each race has four (three in the case of the Accretions, which do not have a spiritualist class) classes, to choose from.
Warrior: A basic melee fighter who relies on strength and durability.
Ranger: A ranged attacker who relies on speed and stealth.
Spiritualist: A magic-user who relies on the power of magic.
Specialist: A class that has special abilities unique to each race, including crafting equipment.
Can we get a more precise list of possible classes and orientations ?

Are there any healing classes in RF online?
Not Exactly. There are some classes in each race that have some healing abilities such as the Accretian Battle Leader, the Bellato Chandra, and the Corite Summon Inanna, but they aren't exactly dedicated healing classes. Healing in this game will be performed by oneself through the use of healing potions rather than relying on another class to heal you.
Can you tell me more about these Healing Potions?
Healing potions are your primary means of healing and they have a 3 second delay between uses. This allows for no downtime when fighting solo or in groups when it comes to health regeneration. Potions come in several different replenishment sizes including: 50hp, 125hp, 250hp, 500hp, 1000hp, 2000hp, 3000hp, 4000hp, and 5000hp.
You can carry potions in stacks of 99 and as many stacks as you want as long as you have room in your inventory for them
This method of potion spamming is necessary to somewhat eliminate pvp on the micro (1v1) scale. The point of this game is cooperation as a race and pvp on the macro scale (5v5,10v10,1000v1000, ect) Potion spamming is a method to survive, but there's a limit.
Potions are only one factor in a fight
For example:
If you are being hit by 3 people each doing 1000 damage every 2 seconds, and you have 2000hp potions that you can only use every 3 seconds chances are you will not survive. Thus the object of the pvp in this game, is to work cooperatively with your fellow race members to overwelm your opponents healing abilities.
You mentioned crafters?
Yes, if you choose the specialist skill you will open up the option of crafting shields/weapons/armour/ammo. There are various restrictions on what you can make based on your crafting PT skill rating and level, and what you need to make things. This can be a very profitable skill at higher levels.
Upgrading: This is a separate thing to crafting and anyone can attempt, providing you can acquire the neccessary items.
Where can we purchase equipment?
All high-end weapons, the ones everyone wants, are acquired from killing mobs. Equipment level 1-30 can be bought from stores. Equipment that is 31+ you either obtain from crafting or a drop.
What is the highest level you can reach in the game ?
The game's current cap is 50.... but it may change in future updates (Giga Updates).
Is the game set up for solo play or groups?
The game can be played both solo or in groups, but like in many MMOGS, you will beneft from being in a group. In groups, your entire party will get Kill Experience for taking down a monster. Plus it may be a good idea to make friends, as you never know when you'll need some help in the war!
How can I form a party in RFO ?
Ctrl + Left Click on the person you wish to party with.
War?
The main theme of RFonline is the war between the three races for control of the main mining area (the Talic mines). Regular battles are held between the three races and if one race can defeat the other two, they gain exclusive access to the mine for a period of time (which is a very big advantage).
We get weapons and items like pots, can we store them?
Firstly you can buy storage bags which enable you to carry more stuff, these arent cheap but are worth it in the long run, also the 3rd Giga update opened up storage safes, these also cost money but you can store much in them, and possibly take advantage of other features.
Can we form guilds in game?
Groups of people from the same race can form guilds. It opens up a whole new element to the game with features the guild can use. You will need a party of 8 players of lv30+ standing, and $24,000,000. Guilds are a strong area of advancement in regular content updates. Currently planned are guild territories that you can fight for and claim.
Are we going to be allowed to make more than one character per server?
The game allows 3 character per server. Codemasters can reserve the right to limit this setting.
Is there a race lock?
Yes, you are limited to one race per server.
Is there such a thing as monster claim? And if yes, then how do people stop the practice of "camping" for rare items?
Only the player or party that deals the most damage to the monster gets the loot. Only the player who delivers the last blow gets the "kill experience" and the "kill count" (for quests).
What is the maximum party/raid/alliance/group size in this game?
A party can be up to 8 players. The difference between the lowest and highest player must not be more thatn 10 levels.
So what's so different about xp progression in the "lowest" levels?
Between levels 1-30, everyone pretty much uses the exact same skills or "moves", (except class/race specific ones which will change the gameplay per-race). No-one race will be faster at leveling than the others, the only difference will be the gameplay experience some players may have had in comparison to others.
Tell me more about leveling.
You gain levels like any other game, however, in addition to levels most skills/spells you use are on a level system (think L2 where you can upgrade your skills through use instead of buying the next level with SP). You will hear this referred to as PT, and applies for item requirements as well. To raise Melee PT, I just have to fight with a sword and I will get a certain % gain with each hit as long as it does at least 5% damage to the target. 100% = level up for the PT. Skills are the same way, like a buff I cast it and it gains a %, and will get better as it levels up. Bottom line of the PT system: if you power level, your PT's may not keep up and you'll be gimpier than someone going slower and keeping their PT capped.
You can find more indepth information about PT's and leveling iby clicking HERE
Where can we purchase equipment?
All high-end weapons, the ones everyone wants, are acquired from killing mobs. Equipment level 1-29 can be bought from stores. Equipment that is 30+ you either obtain from crafting or a drop.
Is there any flying of any kind in RFO?
Yes there will be. The space port you see outside of your race HQ is a transporter that takes you to Ether : The Floating Snow Mountain area. One-way tickets costs about 220-225k (depending on your race tax) and there is a level requirement of 35 to board ship / or to purchase the ticket. The ship makes it's round every 15 minutes, 5 minutes to get to Ether or back to HQ and 10 minutes waiting time at each stop for passengers. There is no local ground / space vehicles that players can use to travel to different areas quicker.
How do i know what lvl the creatures or other players are ?
On the HP bar of your Target Enemy several dots. The meaning of the dots are represented below. However, you can never tell the level of an enemy player. Only their "rank" or the armor they wear can give you an idea.
1 - 1-3 levels below you.
2 - even with you.
3 - +1 level over you.
4 - +2 levels over you.
5 - +3 levels over you.
6 - +4 levels over you.
7 - +5 or more - extremely difficult.
What command can we use to shout in the channel (blue text) ?
/Map
Can anyone wear any armor ?
The armor system is skill-based, so yes. There is no Warrior only, Ranger only or Spiritualist only armor.
Example: [Syphon dragon coat]
*Requires lvl 27
*Requires Force lvl 16
186 armor
7% force attack bo
If you are lvl 27 you can use that armor as long as you have the required skill point. You train force points by using magic, you train close range by going melee and you train long range by using ranged weapons. So if you are a spiritualist using a sword and shield for instance, you can develop close range skills, and then use the close range armor.
Can we play from a behind view of sorts like a 3rd person shooter?
With the 3rd person camera mode, you can zoom in and out. There is also a bird-perspective mode by pressing "K". Then you will see it like you see in strategy games.
