Mining |
| Q:
Can UMTs be attacked? How do I know if mine is taking
damage? |
| A: UMTs
can indeed be attacked, and destroyed. You will
get a system message each time it takes a hit, provided
that you have system messages turned on. |
|
| Q:
How do I mine? |
| A: In
order to mine you must be equipped with a mining
tool which can be gained from the Ore Refiner NPC
or through quests. You must also have a battery
(sold separately) to operate the mining tool. These
come in three sizes: Small, Medium, and Large. The
larger the battery the longer you will be able to
mine. You can carry multiple batteries. Equip the
mining tool and it will replace your weapon. While
you have the tool out a new box will come up and
ask you which kind of ore you wish to mine. Once
you select your ore, press the “Mine Mode”
button. |
|
| Q:
How do I repair my UMT? |
| A: Unfortunately
UMTs cannot be repaired. Once it is destroyed, you
must purchase a new one. |
|
| Q:
Is a UMT faster or slower than ordinary mining? |
| A: UMTs
are a bit slower than ordinary mining, but not too
slow. They are best for using inside the core. |
|
| Q:
What are the different types of ore? |
| A: There
are currently three types of levels for each ore:
+1, +2, and +3. Depending on the + of the ore determines
how much money it will be sold for and how much
materials you will receive from refining. The higher
the +, the more you get in both cases. |
|
| Q:
What do I do with ore once I’ve mined it? |
| A: Take
your ore to the Ore Refiner merchant and talk with
them. You have the options to sell your ore for
money ore refine it for items. Refining does cost
money to do but in return you will be given refine
ore which can be used for crafting (or selling for
gold), talics, gems, and in very rare instances,
jades. |
|
| Q:
What is an Unmanned Mining Tool? |
| A: Unmanned
Mining Tools (UMT) allow players to mine while occupying
themselves with other activities such as Chip Wars,
Battle Dungeons, or just about anything else. |
|
| Q:
What is the difference between Core mining and Portal
mining? |
| A: When
your race has won the Core via Chip War, you are
allowed access to the Core in the center of the
Crag Mines where you can mine with your own bodyguard,
the Halo Stone Keeper. Mining rates within the core
are much faster than at the portal, with about one
ore obtained about every 5-10 seconds while mining
at the portal is about one ore every 30-40 seconds. |
|
| Q:
What’s the difference in ore colors? |
| A: If
you aren’t a crafter then there is really
no difference between what color ore you mine. They
will all sell for the same price at an NPC. If you
are a crafter you can use refined version of the
ore to craft various equipment. Yellow: Used in
crafting shields, Launcher weapons, and chest armor
Black: Used in crafting all Melee weapons and shoe
armor Green: Used in crafting Bow/Throwing knife
weapons and glove armor Blue: Used in crafting Staff
weapons and leg armor Red: Used in crafting Firearm
weapons and head armor |
|
| Q:
Where do I mine? |
| A: The
only map that you can mine in is the Crag Field
map. This is a PvP zone which every race can access
and is the location of the daily Chip War. You can
mine in selective spots throughout the map, but
the two most common places are the Core and your
Race Portal. |
|
| Q:
Where do I obtain a UMT? |
| A: UMTs
can be purchased from the Ore Refiner Merchant.
There are three types, each with its own level requirement.
UMTs require batteries to operate, so make sure
you buy batteries. You will also need to open a
UMT Storage Box with the Ore Refiner merchant. This
is where all your ore will go into. |
